Our Teachings

Our name, Sunburst, evokes the brilliance of the light of Christ, I Am That I Am -- the living divine presence destined to awaken within our souls as the Pure Self. This is Self-realization.

We offer these teachings, also called the Rainbow Path, with the intention to guide you to the realization of the teacher within you: the indwelling presence of Christ Consciousness, the Pure Self, through whose emergence God is realized. Within these teachings you will find meditation techniques, as well as an Eightfold Path of Conscious Living and Twelve Virtues that support the journey of Self-realization.

Time and again great illumined souls come into our midst to awaken us and guide us along the path to Self-realization. They speak the same truth; their message is fundamentally the same: "The kingdom of heaven is within you. Seek and ye shall find." The Sunburst teachings are based upon the message of our visionary founder Norman Paulsen, author of Christ Consciousness, and of his teachers Paramahansa Yogananda and Christ Jesus. These great souls are active in these teachings today, as are many others from the living presence of I Am That I Am.

Norman Paulsen's father was one of the first American Buddhist ministers, and became his childhood spiritual teacher. As a young man, Norman's spiritual quest led him to the great yogi Paramahansa Yogananda, where he became a direct disciple and ordained minister. Throughout his life, Norman was blessed by many visitations with Christ Jesus, as well as direct experiences of the divine inner Sun, I Am That I Am, the ineffable face of God. From all these sources, the Sunburst teachings have come forth.  

Everyone, regardless of spiritual affiliation, can embrace these teachings in the temple of their own hearts, and draw closer to God with each passing moment.
