About Us

Sunburst is a fellowship of like-minded individuals who are dedicated to the awakening, healing and transformation of consciousness, through spiritual practice, conscious living and sustainable stewardship of the Earth. We do not promote any specific religion, but our teachings will inevitably draw you to the absolute experience of those truths from which all religions gained their births. We support the universal principles of love, harmony and understanding through daily meditation and conscious living.

We are here to help all sincere seekers in their quest to attain a deeper bonding with the Divine. Through the practice of meditation and the timeless codes of virtue, we strive to live in service to all beings. It is our desire to share this divine knowledge with all those who hear the calling within them, and wish to prepare the vessel of their souls to bring forth the Pure Self, the consciousness of Christ existing within them. This is Self-realization!

Sunburst was founded in 1969 by our visionary teacher Norman Paulsen, a direct disciple of Paramahansa Yogananda, author of the spiritual classic, Autobiography of a Yogi. Brother Norman laid the foundation upon which we grew by planting the seeds to "Seek God first, above all things." He disseminated techniques of meditation and a way of living based on the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda and Christ Jesus , as well as through his own face to face experiences of God, I Am That I Am.

From this foundation we have grown into a supportive community, reaching out to inspire all toward spiritual maturity and their own direct experience of the Divine.
